Great news

I have just been procrastinating about doing my homework as usual and randomly typed "fashion" into Google, news flashed up about a new  fashion project is taking place. Launched this year on London Fashion Week's 25th anniversary it is a project between The British Fashion Council and British Vouge editor Alexandra Shulman which is seeking to give support to British fashion stars of the future. This project will be great because it will give guidance to up and coming designers providing them with mentors and funding which will help to get their business off to a good start.

Illurstrated People

Although I have seen the clothes man times in Topshop I have never really thought about buying anything, mainly because I always saw so many other things in the shop that I wanted. However I am increasingl becoming a fan of this particular brand. Featuring hand drawn art and pretty patterns there t-shirts are really interesting and greatfor a simple outfit for school ( skinnies and a top). There tops range from about £25-£30.
You can buy it in various Topshop stores or shop onine at: http://www.illustratedpeople.com/index.php

The September Issue

I have always liked Vogue and so was understandably thrilled a few months ago when I heard that a documentary film was in production about the making of an issue. Chronicling the making of he September issue of American Vogue this fly on the wall documentary directed and produced by R.J. Cutler that captures the hard work that goes in to the magazine. It takes readers behind the scenes and lets them see the jobs of employees especially those of editor in chief Anna Wintour and creative director Grace Coddington.
A must see for anyone interested in fashion or the arts!

Fame

This movie was great mainly because it was such a fun movie to watch, it was light hearted and full of music, singing, dancing but still had a substantial story line to keep me and my friends interested throughout.
A perfect movie for group of friends to go and see together!

A Guide To The Birds Of East Africa

I recently borrowed "A Guide to the Birds of East Africa - A Novel” by Nicholas Drayson out of the library and although I know you shouldn't judge a book by the cover this one just happened to catch my eye. The intricate details on the birds and the colourfull images drew me in as it stood out on an other wise bland shelf of colourless books. I am really looking forward to reading it as the blurb sounds rather interesting after I have finished the book I am reading at the moment.(Withering Heights)

Whitney Port's line

I have always admired Whitney Ports style on The Hills, she always looked chic, lady like and put together so it came as no surprise when she announced her new collection. I defiantly wasn't disappointed with the collection she presented at this years New York fashion week.
The pieces were elegant and feminine with splashes of colour making them fun a wearable.

Gossip Girl

I love Gossip Girl, it is one of my favourite programs on television at the moment. I like it for may reasons:
1. It's entertaining to watch a show about how "the other half" live .
2. I like the juxtaposition of the Humprys and the Van Der woodsens interacting together - gives the show some depth.
3. I like the music because it has made me familiar with some bands that i hadn't previously been aware of.
4. I like the show as it brights up my Thursday evenings
5. I LOVE the clothes in it !

New find

Browsing the internet tonight I found a lovey website selling jewelry. The owner of the website is a lady called Laurel, she creates lovely, simplistic jewelry out of small pieces of glass using her own hand drawn art.
Many of her pieces are delicate looking inspired by nature with quotes on them. It's the perfect place for thoughtful gifts for friends or treats for yourself.

Alexa Chung

Im posting before i leave for a friends party so this is going to have to be a quick post. (sorry everyone)
One of my many fashion icons is Alexa Chung. Why? Because she oozes coolness and effortless street style that other celebrities pay thousands of pounds to try emulate.
